Interfaith Rotating Winter Shelter- Comite Interreligioso para Refugio en el Invierno
For two weeks during the cold weather season, St. James Memorial Center is the host site for the Interfaith Rotating Winter Shelter. Our parishioners help by providing a hot dinner, transportation to the memorial Center, and overnight supervision. Serving our guests is a great way to express our faith andgive a welcome to individuals who have no home.

Shawl Ministry- Ministerio de Bufandas
Our ministry is a way for those blessed with talents in working with textiles and fabrics to share their love with those who may need it. By creating shawls, we are creating tangible "hugs" with which to surround the recipients. The ministry is open to knitters, crocheters, quilters, weavers and embroiderers, or those who would like to learn to make them.

St. Vincent de Paul Society – Sociedad de San Vicente de Paul
The St. James Conference of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul extends emergency assistance to families and individuals in desperate need for, among other things, food, shelter, transportation, rent payment, utility payment, medical and medication payment, gasoline, and referral to other public and private social agencies. Help is provided through a personal clothing drive “Sock-It-To-Me-Sunday”; a collection of paper goods for the poor, “A Different Kind of Paper Drive”; a food offertory weekend, and an appeal for salable items for the Thrift Store, "Bundle Sunday." Unlike the practice of many charitable organizations. the Society's Rule mandates that pairs of members personally visit the poor when they bring assistance, and seek to offer Christ's own presence to them.
